Another saint with multiple names - Ruan, Rumon, and others (see here for more of a life of Rumon). A friend of mine recently pointed me in this saint's direction as he'd heard the story that Rumon was accused of being a werewolf. Attractive though it was to go down that lycanthope line in a poem, I've taken more the main thread of the story which is about protecting sheep.
Here is the poem, more reflection will come later.
FOR RUMON
The Song of the Sheep
There's a wolf at the door,
Rumon, Rumon,
It is plotting a war,
Rumon, Rumon,
It is snarling and wild,
Rumon, Rumon,
It is after my child,
Rumon, Rumon,
Its teeth are like knives,
Rumon, Rumon,
It has come for our wives,
Rumon, Rumon,
Hear it howling at night,
Rumon, Rumon,
Baying, just out of sight,
Rumon, Rumon,
We all know it can kill,
Rumon, Rumon,
If it can, then it will,
Rumon, Rumon,
We are just little sheep,
Rumon, Rumon,
We are kept from our sleep,
Rumon, Rumon,
Every lamb is in fear,
Rumon, Rumon,
Of a wolf drawing near,
Rumon, Rumon,
My blood runs so cold,
Rumon, Rumon,
There are holes in the fold,
Rumon, Rumon,
Are you walking the land?,
Rumon, Rumon,
Is your rod in your hand?,
Rumon, Rumon
We can feel its breath,
Rumon, Rumon,
We are waiting for death,
Rumon, Rumon,
Show your cowardly face,
Rumon, Rumon,
And then die in our place,
Rumon, Rumon.
